Cute Critters and a sweet reward!

Hey there fellow crafters! I got some time to myself today and Sunday so I am here to share them with you. But first, I have to share this wonderful award that I just received from Mel! How sweet is she?

Here are my ten fave blogs, and I can't believe I can only choose 10!

Alright, now, ONTO the creations!!!
I made this card on Sunday. My sweet friend Sanwaya sent me a bunch of these ADORABLE changito images, and as we ALL know, I LOVE changito! Heck! I just love critters! I was inspired by the sketch my friend Diane posted the other day, but didn't follow it exactly. Just kind of...windged it. ;) I was a day late on this one too. What's up with that? ha!
The paper is from Making Memories. Its the "Easter Pack" but I use it for everything. I like it almost as much as the OTHER paper you have seen tons of times on here, lol! I used little gems in the dots on the umbrella. The eyelets are from K and Company. For added flair, I used Glassy Accents, only...you cant' really tell in the pic. Its on the water and on the rain.
Now, THIS card...may seem like a double take, but don't adjust your screens! I ASSURE you its different! I made this card for the Cute Critters Club sketch challenge. Here is the sketch:

I used everything that I used in the last card only I stickled instead of using gems and glassy accents. The brads were a RAK, but I am ashamed that I dont remember from who. The flower was from Diane, and its a Prima.
This last card is simple and sweet. I got this Watermellon Bee card from a secret sister and I LOVE it! Hes so summery! The challenge in the Cute Critters Club was to use a critter with some kind of summer food and he was just perfect!
The background paper was a RAK form Shannon and the sparkly paper was DCWV. I used Bic markers and stickles. I also crimp the green paper to add more...something...lol!

An ENTIRE DAY!!!

So, can I just say, that my hubby is SO GREAT. Heather (toothy) came down from Bowling Green and brought a ton of carding/scrappin supplies with her. I had the kitchen cleared out and we went to town, and DH watched my lil man ALL DAY for us. This day could not have gone much better....Unless we had had a couple of more hours...and some food. What was I thinking not getting scrappin snacks? HellO? Anyway, so we spend hours stamping and swapping....and then FINALLY got down to carding. It was fabulous! Who knew that 2 girls would only actually make 2 cards each in 6 hours? HA!

So here are the cards that I made. I used Heathers stamps for my cards. She just got her Java Bugs and I was SO excited to ink it up and give it a whirl! The card just kinda fell together. I also got a chance to use her Cuttle Bug! YAY! My first time! Now I KNOW I need one. ;)

The second card was made with Eloise Green Grass. LOVE her! I might have to invest! I popped the tulip and she just begged for bling! I also got to give Heather's Nesties a try. I LOVE them! One more reason for a bug, right?

All in all, today was the perfect day! Can't wait to do it again!

HAPPY DANCE!

Yay! Thanks, Lisa, for doing the Ketto/Bella order for us all! I am LOVING my Anise and Froggie kettos! I HAD to break them out when I checked the mail this morning. It was just TOO much to let them sit there until I was feeling better. Plus my nephew is sick, so he stayed home today. Not take advantage? I think NOT!
So, my first card is for a challenge that I didn't realize was already over. Duh! lol! But it was still fun, and not a color scheme I had ever thought of using before. Here is the picture we had to be inspired by:
Here is what I came up with:
Of COURSE, as you know, the image is Anise Ketto. i thought the stripes on her shirt went well with the challenge. Got her in the latest order! Woot! I liked the layers of color in the cakes, so I used those colors and that kind of layering with my background. I also liked the clean, simple look, so I tried to stay true to that.
For supplies I used Textured Trios ribbon. Michaels brand, I believe. The papers are from a recycled pack made by K and Company. For the bottom "frills" I used my 1 7/16 inch scallop punch and halfed, then trimmed them down to fit. And, of course, I popped the flowers with foam squares from Walmart. Um, oh, yes. And my stardust stickles. Don't know what I ever did without those. Thanks, Heather! (toothy)
This second card is for the Cupcake Challenge Sketch for this week. I knew I was going to use Froggie for it! I just had to! Here is my submission!
The papers are from Making Memories and another company, but can't remember....Used my stardust stickles for the bling. Feeling the bling with the sunshine out!
Hope you enjoy these cards! Can't wait to get a few more challenges under my belt this week!

Sweet N Sassy

So awhile back, one of my best good friends, Heather (heathermom8) sent me these Sugar Nellie images and I have been saving them. I was intimidated, to say the least. That's a lot of coloring! And I have seen some spectacular cards made with her....sooooo....until today she stayed in my large box of images.

Today, though, I was inspired and had a few moments to myself. Friday Sketchers had a sketch that was fantastic, so I jumped in as soon as the boys were asleep.

Here is the sketch:
And here is my humble card:

The papers are from K and Company. I don't know what I will do when I run out of this pack...I LOVE this paper pack! ::sigh:: Hazards of shopping at Big Lots, lol! The flowers are felt and from American Craft. The name of this Sugar Nellie is "Sweet N Sassy". I am not proud of my coloring job. The colors didn't blend very well....but I used my watercolor pencils and I suppose I have done worse. ;) The charm is from my sweet friend, Shemaine. I believe its from Close To My Heart.
Hope you enjoy, and hope I am back later with more cards!

Baby Boom

Today I got the chance to do the House Mouse Monday Challenge. Yes, its Wednesday. Thank goodness we get a week for these things.

Our challenge was to use multiple images, or to split an image up. Something like that. So I used two Happy Hopper images I was RAKd ages ago and hadn't had the chance to use yet. Just not any babys being born until recently!

The names of the images are, Sleepy Head and Yaaawn. The paper is from K and Company. I used Stardust stickles from Toothy on the baby bottle and the safety pins. And, of course, I used my watercolor pencils.

Cupcakes and Fishies

This weekend did NOT go as expected, but today has been the best day, despite everything, that I have had in...well, I don't even know how long! My son has had a terrible fever since Friday afternoon, and yesterday the doc said he had the beginnins of Pneumonia. This will be round two for us, but I am so thankful that we caught it as early as we did. It had not actually gotten to his lungs yet this time! Today, for the first time in days, my son actually slept. He slept for 3 hours! His body needed it so badly! Afterwards he was giggling and playing a little bit, something he has not done in days. He still has no appetite, but is plenty hydrated and the fever seems to be almost gone for good! God is good!
While my son was taking his extremely long nap, I decided to give an old idea a try. I spotted a card similar to this over a year ago when I got the Stampin Up set, Fishy Friends and have been wanting to try it, but just never could get around the need for layers! Enter, Cupcake Challenge Blog!

There challenge this week was for us to use ONE (1) layer other than our base and the cs we used for the image. WHAT? Seriously? I almost had a heart attack right then and there, but then I remembered this set and went to work. I hope you enjoy! It will be hard getting rid of this one!

The layer on the base is cuttlebugged from my sweet, dear friend Heather. I sponged some blue on parts of it so it didnt look so...I dunno. Is the ocean that YOU have seen one color? I colored my lil guys with my watercolor pencils and then lightly stickled some areas to give them some life! The ric rac was from my sweet friend Diane ages ago. I used yellow ink to give it more depth and not seem so...white. I decided that the card just seemed naked, so I used different brown buttons to look like rocks at the ocean floor. And of course, the sentiment. I believe (and I could be terribly mistaken) that this sentiment came from my friend Dee AGES ago.

Might as well face it

I'm addicted to KETTO! The sweetest lil envie came in the mail from Carol on Saturday that was FILLED with Ketto images, and with Noah being so sick with Pneumonia its only been this afternoon that I have been able to sneak some of these out to play with. Now I REALLY can't wait to get mine...and then get MORE!

CARD MAKIN MAMAS, get READY for a KETTO swap! ;)
The first card I made was using Maisy Ketto. I used my BICs on her, but wish I had gone with the more subtle pencils because of the paper I chose. I still love it, though! The paper is from, "My Mind's Eye". The flower is from K and Company. The glitter was silver and stardust colored Stickles.

Thie second card I made was with Tatiana Ketto. I did use my pencils on her and I feel like she matches her paper better. I popped her flower, as much as it pained me to "waste" an image, lol! It just begged to be popped! Then I stickled it! The background paper is also from, My Mind's Eye. The baubles are from sweet Toothy (Heather). I used the blue ribbon to pop out the line of blue flowers in the paper...but as you can see, I covered all but one. Real smart, Cass, lol! Oh, well! At least it mostly matches!

I hope you enjoyed! I am hoping for more time tomorrow! Happy Easter!

YEEE HAW!!!

Howdy partners! Got some Mojo Back today! Weehaaww!

My son LOVES hats. Fireman hat, cowoy hat, baseball cap...you name it, he loves it. A rare toddler to be sure, but hes rarely seen without a hat at least nearby.

This particular day Noah was a cowboy riding his trusty "steed", otherwise known as a radio flyer trike, lol! Something else he loves.
I was cruising around http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ and found this card that a lady made and I was immediatly inspired and HAD to do this page!!! Here is the card that the lady made. I regret that I do NOT have her name, just the picture of the card.

Here is my page:

I used my Cricut personal cutter and the cartridge, George and Basic shapes for the stars and the word, "cowboy". I used hemp twine for the stitching and used brown ink to distress a few things. And of course, lots of brads! I hope you enjoy!! Happy Hump Day!

House Mouse-y Monday

I'm BAA_AAACK! I didn't think I would get the chance to card today, but low and behold...I worked my tush off and got the house under control enough to feel okay getting some "me" time in while Noah took a RANDOM afternoon nap. The FIRST one in almost...well, at LEAST 4 months! YAY!
So First I worked on the House Mouse Monday's Blog challenge. Today our theme was to use the word "sweet". Either the WORD, or an ITEM on the card had to be sweet.
So, I went back to my ginormous stash of House Mouse Raked and swapped images and found this sweet image called, "Hot Cocoa". I thought it was PERFECT. That's the kind of day it was here in Middle Tennessee. Cold and rainy, dull...perfect for cuddling in front of a fire with Cocoa...not that I did, but eh, a girl can dream, right? =0) The paper is from, "My Mind's Eye" and the hardware brad is from K and Company, from a super secret sister awhile back. I also used my water color pencils and Marvy Blender Pens.

The next card is my cupcake challenge, but I am a lil disappointed in it. Our challenge was to use folds. Had to be two or more....come to think of it, hope I read that right...::shrugs:: Oh, well!
Over in Card Makin Mamas, we used the "Joy Fold Card" as a challenge some ages ago and I love it. So, I thought that would be a fun one to make for the cupcake challenge. I used another House Mouse image from another swap or something. I cant find the name of it. Anywho! Hope you enjoy! Nyway, the brads are crooked...and I just...I'm just not feelin it, but, eh. Its alright.
