House Mouse Challenge

So, I have been following the House Mouse Challenges blog for a few weeks and think the challenges are fun, and of course...Love that House Mouse! Well, this week I finally got the chance...or, rather...carved out some time for myself to have the chance...to participate for the first time!

Our challenge this week was to decorate a box or a bag and of course, to use a House Mouse character. I went back to an oldie but a goodie image-wise. My very first House Mouse stamp, Feelin Rosey. I paper pieced the image on the front of the box. I got the A2 box template from Splitcoaststampers.com. I used paper from My Mind's Eye. I am going to give this set to my mom for Mother's day, but I plan to make some more for door prizes for the Bachlorette Party I am going to host in June.

Scrappy dayz! ::Edited::

So, I have never really considered myself to be a "conventional scrapper". My pages usually look nothing like the amazing things that you see on other blogs, but I like my pages. They are fun, but functional. My goal is to put at least 2 pics on every page. Sometimes four. We live in a small home and the more condensed my books, the better, lol!

Friday evening I spent, no kidding...and HOUR making JUST the guitar for this first page! I used a thin piece of notebook paper and traced a guitar off of the internet and then used that as a template to cut out the pieces. The strings are a thin jewelry wire. Though, I never could get the stuff to straiten out the way I wanted it. The papers that I used on this were all "American Craft".

This second layout was tough. I was NOT feelin the mojo flow apparently yesterday! But, I still like the outcome, no matter how simple it was. The flowers are all from American Craft. They are felt! I used my Cricut, "george and basic shapes" cart for my title.

Now, onto CARDS! Well, CARD...lol I got my cupcake challenge done today! Hoping to get Mojo and Housemouse under my belt this week too! I am enjoying getting involved in the blog world! Lots of fun and new ideas!
This week's Cupcake Challenge was to use This Sketch: I have been dieing to have a chance to use CUPCAKES for these challenges. Its only right, right? I used the Inkadinkado set that a sweet lady over on Cafe Mom bought me for my birthday! Its one of my all time faves! I cut them out and popped them for dimesion. I used the Cricut for my circle. 4 inches:George and Basic Shapes. The paper is from K and Company and I am unsure about the dots....cant rememer the brand, but I have been saving this piece of paper for like a year, lol! I feaux stitched the circle and actually stitched the buttons. Hope you like!
I had this al lposted cause I didn't think I would have time to get my Mojo done too. I was WRONG! I got my Mojo! Here it is. I used a Penny Black birthday image that was RAKd to me AGES ago. I used some Rakd cuttled swiss dots as well as I used the crimper for the green paper. I beleive the dots are from Paper Studio. The Baubles are from K and Company. From my Secret Sis 2 times ago. Anyway! Enjoy!

Busy Tuesday!

First, Happy Birthday to the Cute Critters Club! And a big thanks to all the ladies that keep that place running, esp Heather! She works hard to make that place fun and interesting! Yesterday we had a birthday party over there and OH, how fun it was!
One of the "games" was to make a birthday card using this sketch:
Honestly, this was a VERY hard sketch for me. Something about it...not sure what...visually it was just not working for me, but I did manage between potty breaks with the toddler, and breaking up fights with the 2 toddlers....to make this colorful card!

I used an image and sent from Heather that she sent me right after we met over a year ago! I thought it was fitting. Kinda made the challenge come full circle. I colored it with my BICs. The paper was a RAK from...Yikes, I can't even remember. That is so sad. The ribbon is American Craft. The brads are from ColorBok. I also used Stickles to add that birthday flair!
Last night, Noah went to bed extremely early. He has been getting up EARLY in the AM (5:30...) and then wanting an early nap (WAY before 10) and then running super hard the rest of the day. SO. Needless to say, but 6:30 he is crashed!
DH came home and needed to take a placement test for a computer degree he is going for so I had 2 hours to spare. What to do, what to do....DUH! Make cards!
My goal recently has been to use my stored up HUGE box of RAK images, swap images and RAK papers....a BIG undertaking but someone has to do it, right? HA! So I made this first card with an image I received from Heather (have you checked out her AMAZING blog lately???). Its "Fancy Pants" from House-Mouse/Happy Hopper. I never really liked it before last night!
I used paper from The Paper Studio, and used wide satin ribbon from Halmark. I used Glossy Accents on her pearls and on her shoes as well as stickles on her purse. I know I would LOVE a blinged out purse! And of course, to color I used my watercolor pencils.

This next card was made also with all RAKd items. I am in love with this foxy lil guy! I got him from Shannon. If I ever figure out where he came from I am going to snatch him up! That is FOR sure! The eyelets are from Making Memories. I used my watercolor pencils on Foxy.
Today is a rainy, chilly day here in TN so I am hoping to get caught up on some laundry and things...and maybe this evening I can get my Mojo Monday under control...maybe a House Mouse challenge? Have a great day, ladies!

Monster Cupcakes

So today the cupcake challenge was "Monsters". I was like...WHAT?? I have absolutely NOTHING in that category...pretty sad since I have a 2 year old little boy, eh?? Well...I was desperately searching through every image I have ever received hoping and praying...and FOUND this image. I HOPE it counts! Its Changito. SUCH a cutee. He is DRESSED as a vampire...which, to me...is in the category, "Monsters". So here is my challenge submission:

I used my crayola colored pencils. I didn't have the right colors of BICs so I went with the pencils. The red paper is cuttled from my best good friend Heather. The orange and green is from Making Memories. The Circle paper is from...um...the clearance section at Hobby Lobby. The brads are from ColorBok from my SUPER secret sister this last time around. I also used stardust stickles for the cape and Crayola brand glitter glue for the punkin.

BLOG CANDY!

I have been eyeing these Magnolias forever and have not had the $$ to get any yet! Here is your chance if you are like me! They are choosing 6 winners! My fingers are crossed!!!

Sweet Cupcakes!

Today I finally got to my cupcake challenge. The challenge was to use Brown plus any other color of your choice. I was going to choose brown and pink (one of my fave combos) but I have had this paper from "My Mind's Eye" taunting me for months and I thought this was the perfect thing to use it for. The polkadots are actually not from MME, they are from Colorbok. The image is, of course, House Mouse. Its called, "Sweet Kiss." I sponged the image background with blue and brown. I think it got overdone. I wasn't paying attention and sponged the brown when I meant to get blue, so I compensated...lol. Anyway, here it is!!

Mojo Monday....er...Tuesday

So, not sure about this card. Mojo Monday has WONDERFUL inspirations! But...I just could not make my brain work today. I like it, but its definatly not what I envisioned. I used my much neglected "Giftbellawithhat" that I got for my birthday last year from one of the sweetest ladies ever over on Cafe Mom. I popped the gift. Love popping! Also stickled the hat and the gift. What birthday card is complete without some sparkle? Some bling??? I used some wide green ribbon that I bought ages and ages ago and have not used much of. Not even sure who makes it now! The papers are from Making Memories and K and Company. The sentiment is from Stampin Up!'s Simple Sayings 2. I used brads from Making Memories. Ummm....OH, and of COURSE I used my watercolor pencils. Its always that or BICs, right??
Today I got the sweetest package in the mail from my sweet friend and admin over on Card Makin Mamas, Diane. I was surprised and it made my otherwise dull day SO bright! I can't wait to try out my new goodies! INCLUDING some awesome BICS! WOOT! Awesome new colors! Talk about a NICE RAK!
BEFORE I forget, BLOG CANDY! You MUST check this out (but not enter, cause I am going to win, LOL). Callie is giving away some AWESOMENESS! Check it out HERE!
Oh, well! I am off to take my cranky toddler to play outside and then a bath and BED!

Feelin....PERKY! HA!

Okay, okay! So, a couple of weeks ago I got a card in the mail for a FREE pair of Victoria's Secret panties and 10 dollars off ANY bra in their store. WHAT? Wowza! This for a woman with literally ONE bra that fits? Suhweet! (yes, I do a LOT of laundry, ha!) So Sunday I went in and found a great bra and paid 24 bucks for it. Chaching! Got me free, COMFY panties...LOVE this bra! Never had a bra this nice! I could go on for hours, loL!

Okay, so that was my inspiration to begin working on my friends bachlorette party invites. Its in June, but needed to get going now and get things lined up. Might as well get the invites done and just fill them out when all of the information comes together.

AGES ago, one of my BFFs Heather sent me the COOLEST "RAK" ever and I KNEW I would need the idea at SOME point in my life...and here was the PERFECT opportunity! I can't find a link to the post, so here is the card she sent me:

Alright. So since the girl that I am doing the shower for is a lil...um...lets just say, Cari turns red when you even mention anything...honemoon related! Its SO sweet! I remember being that way! SO, I am trying to keep it low key, Christian and FUN. Here is what I came up with. I used my Marvy 1.5 inch circle punch and my scallop scissors. The paper is from Making Memories' Easter pack. I also used my DCWV glitter pack for the white. Well, here it is!

Hope to have more to post later in the week! Got a small headache and sleepies and hongers at the moment. Yuck. Its Monday, right? Ha!

Here goes Nothin!

Alright, so I was cruising around this weekend and through Heather's blog happened to check out the Cupcake Craft Challenges blog and fell in love with thier challenges and the ladies are all super talented! I liked the variety of skills and levels.

I really liked this weeks challenge, so I started thinking. They ALSO are looking for a new DT...something I am not sure that I am even qualified for, but eh, its worth a shot!! I think it would be fun!

So, here is the picture that we were to draw inspiration from this week on the Cupcake Craft Challenges blog:

What a FAB picture right? SOOO cheery. So...relaxing and non-cluttered...(too bad I didn't think of the cluttered part BEFORE I made my card, lol) I was inspired by the lines on the vase and the table, and of course, the colors and flowers. I couldn't get away from them no matter how hard I tried. So here is my submission/entry:

The image was Stampin Up, I like your style. One of my all time fave sets! I thought the shapes and lines on the forms were perfect, as well as the shape of the forms themselves really leant themselves to this picture. The paper is from K and company and...I just liked the look of it. I DO kind of wish I had used a more cheery background, but I still like the way this turned out. The flowers are from American Craft. I used Stickles in the centers as well as on the forms to make it more...summery and fun. And, of course, I used my watercolor pencils on the image...

Incidentally, this ALSO (I think) qualifies for Mojo Monday! Yay for two-fers!!! So its also submitted over at mojo monday!

Well, there you have it! My entry/submission! I hope you like!!!
