Ahhh, the weekend.

Well, today I was still coughing my head off, but I was NOT going another day without dragging the craft supplies out of the closet and making a card or two. The problem was, I was uninspired. So many inspiring posts, sketches and ideas....and I got nothin. But I was able to come up with these cards. Hope you enjoy!

This first one is for my very first friend on Cafe Mom....Sorry to spoil the surprise! I know you will still enjoy it anyway.

This second card is for a lady on CMMs that went above and beyond this week. It is packed with Changito images so that she can create her own. I owe thanks for the cuttled paper and the banana paper to a couple of sweeties over in CMMs. You ladies are really starting to spoil me! No, WAIT! Don't stop! I love it, LOL!

Today we got to go and see Gammie and Grandpa. Noah LOVES to spend time with them. He also loves to talk to Gammie on the phone every chance he gets. It has gotten to the point that if he sees me on the phone, he gets upset because he thinks I am talking to Gammie and he wants to. lol! Anyway, we had tons of fun. Noah, completely unscathed from the bump on his head, was a little toddler tornado, and is still not actually asleep yet. Can we say, HYPER???

Anywho! I hope you ladies are enjoying your weekend! I might not be on much tomorrow. Putting windows in at my parents place, so also not any time to card, most likely. ::sigh:: Only one more week and I will be back to my normal routine. YAY! Love you ladies!

Yaaawwwnn....

::Stretch:: Okay. I think I can stay awake. lol! What a week! My goodness! What a roller coaster!
As I have mentioned before, the office I am working for temporarily is out of control, crazy disorganized. The first few days that I worked there I was so stressed I didn't sleep for about 2 days. I was so overwhelmed. The lady that is there now is sweet and kind, and has great work ethic. She is just slow. Things are months behind in some aspects and slow is not good enough. I literally don't even take time to pee. I just hope my bladder holds. Its that bad. Please pray that I will be able to do some significant for them before Friday.

Noah has decided that this week he does not like to go play all day with his best friend. He cries so hard when I leave. The first day it caught me off gaurd. He has never acted that way before. EVER. He has cried every single day this week when I left. It breaks my heart to leave him there with him crying, but I have made a commitment, and barring anything serious happening, my duty is to go to work. And, lets be realistic. He may not want me to go, but he plays HARD after I am gone. He sleeps SO hard when we get home. So I guess he is not too traumatized.

Working has, however, made me appreciate being with my little love so much more. I am facinated at how much he changes every day and how much personality he has and is still developing! I can't seem to take my eyes off of him sometimes. He is even saying some small sentences. "Whas Da?" "Wha Happen?" "I Hepping" He is so sweet.

Thank you to all of you for not forgetting about me! I got a great RAK from Raz the other day! You really are too much!!! I got some great cuttled papers and some prima flowers, and the cutest cupcake images! MmmM! love those cupcakes!!!

I also got yet another package from my not-so-secret secret sister from CSs on CMMs! WOW! She has gone above and beyond. I feel like a bad sis! I was not that good to mine!

Sorry, no cards to share. I am hoping to get a chance to this weekend, but it is not looking good. Have great weekend ladies!

Happy Day!

Today, despite feeling bad most of the day (thanks a lot, Noah) was a good day. Noah has been so much fun!

Thanks to Brandy, we are successfully weaning Noah off the binky. YAY! He has gone 3 entire days, save nap and sleeping times, without, and rarely to never asks for it now. He does, however, carry blankie around everywhere now. My lil linus. I will get pics of that soon. I do get a lot of these pouty faces. He is a little more insecure without. I think it is so sad, but so sweet.

Without the binky, Noah is a new child. He is talking, singing, babbling...I told DH I want to give it back so he will go back to being a baby. =0( I am proud, but I have that bittersweet feeling. I am sure most of you can relate.

I caught a cute video of him trying to sing to the Veggi Tales theme song. We are big into Veggi Tales in this house. Noah is a second generation Veggi Tales fan. Poor thing, lol! He never had a chance.

Since it was hot out (LOVE that TN summer humidity!) DH decided to make home-made icecream. This was something that I grew up doing with my family, and when I got married, for my birthday,my parents gave me their hand crank ice cream maker. One day I hope to have one that has the nice wood on the outside. There is nothing like home-made ice cream.

I also managed to make a card today! Enjoy!

So happy its Friday!

Well, this week has been a week, that's for sure.

When I first got pregnant, I never fathomed staying home. I never wanted to stay home. It was never in the plan, and plan we did. DH would stay home with me for the first 4 weeks, and I would go back to work after 6 weeks. I even had a babysitter lined up and payment arrangements all made.

Alas, it was not to be. God must look down on us when we are "planning" and giggle, or shake his head and say, silly humans. Don't you know my plans are WAY better?? I was not able to go back to work. Noah had reflux and colic, and as bad as my post partum depression was, I still knew that a screaming child was not safe in the hands of a stranger for 8 hours a day. Much less, why work to only make enough to pay for the babysitter and gas, right? So stay at home I did.

It was a hard adjustment, learning to do housework and take care of an infant and a husband who now shouldered the entire financial load. At somepoint (I am not sure when) I guess I settled into that roll.

This week has been.....well, HARD on me. DH has been good about listening and being patient. But things have just been stressful. Is hard walking into a work situation and immediatly have to clean up someone elses problems, and be worrying about your lil man with someone else...and whether hubby will get supper...or whether I will have the energy to clean and launder (which I have not) much less time for carding, which, I know is low on the totom poll, but realistically, a person needs time for themselves and for family.
I came to the realization that I DON'T want to work anymore. Not because I am lazy, but because I have not truely had any time with my son in 5 solid days. I miss him. He is learning new things every day and I am not getting to spend time with him. I dunno.
I have a newfound appreciation for those who work fulltime, or even partime and have families and manage to balance them well. I am sure it was something that came with time, but as thankful as I am for the extra dollars this month, I am also thankful that this is a temporary arrangement. I am hoping this will motivate me to be a great housewife and mother, instead of just a good one.

I did get a great RAK this week from a super fab friend of mine, Heather from over at Cafe Mom. I love this card. She sent it with some awesome brads and eyelets! THANKS HEATHER!

That's the sum of my week.....thanks for listening. I know its not my usual. Hopefully I will have something much more fun to say by the end of the weekend. =0)

What a GREAT day!

So, I was sitting on the couch, feeling sorry for myself....being a loser...and my neighbor drives up and is all excited because she wants me to go with her and get this playhouse for Noah. She had seen it on the side of the road a couple miles up. Well, Noah had just FINALLY gotten down for a nap, so...yeah. Well, the neighbor has a 17 year old daughter, so I left her with the almost asleep Noah, and we took off...only to realize my tank was on E! YIKES!

Luckily, the house was only about 2 miles up the road. Unfortunately, it would NOT fit in my trunk. Drat....well, my FIL has a truck and he works with DH 2 miles up the other way, so I called and they couldn't help. FIL was out at lunch. BUMMER! I had things to do and didn't want the house to get away, so I thought...and the neighbor thought...(I love her and her daughter. They are awesome).

Then it hit us. TIE IT TO THE ROOF! Right? LOL! Only problem was, no bungees...and no rope. AWE, COME ON!!! My landlord happened to be coming out of her house, so I snagged her and sure enough, she had ROPE! WOOHOOO!!!!

Again, neighbor girl with a now, fully awake, hyper Noah and we took off...and filled up wth gas first, LOL!

So here we go! It has some yuck inside the panels....I dunno if we can get it out, but I bleached and rinced the rest of it. Noah loves it! I can't wait to see him imagine!!!

Is it Friday yet?

Oh, MAN...what was I THINKING going back to work? I must have been out of my mind.....Lets just say....I remember why I quit in the first place. The lady I used to work with is a lazy, slovenly, lieing waste of a good office position. I don't like to talk that way about people...maybe I should just go with the old Thumper addage....if you don't have anything nice to say....

Transcription is a month behind, rooms are not being sterilized, the doctors are getting behind because the office is behind. ARGH! I am the kind of person that likes things to be in order, and running like a well-oiled machine. And this office doesn't. But it WILL by gum. It WILL! Only 2.5 more weeks...I can do it.

This weekend was not bad. It was just another weekend. Noah was a sweetie, though, he developed a cough on Friday or Saturday. No other symptoms, but it has made for a few bad nights for my lil man.

I was able to make an awesome card (I thinkn) on Sunday...instead of cleaning like I should have been....Its an accordian card. The image on the inside if a magnet. I got the idea for the card out of a Card Maker Magazine from a year ago. I made it for a RAK for someone who could use a pick-me-up.

I made these last week too. I am ticked about the bella card. I used glue and it wrinkled. That usually doesn't happen. I guess the paper was thinner than I realzied. I love my piggies, though! Thanks to heather for the cuttled paper!

Today I am not going into work. The lady (who I previously talked bad about) that I am replacing, didn't get cardiac clearance in time for her surgery, so since I was supposed to take Noah to his swimming lesson she decided to go in to work.

I am not taking Noah to his lesson. I can't stand to see him cry that way....I will next week. I think....I dunno. He is coughing SO bad....his chest is so congested, and I don't see a swimming lesson being good for that.

So, I am going to do the SAHM thing today. If Noah will take a stinking NAP!

Rainy Day Blues

I feel like I need a hound dog sitting next to me on my front porch to howl with me while I sing the blues. Today did not go as well as I had hoped. It had its bright spots....and I am counting my blessings, but PMS does not help the blues, lol!

Lets start with yesterday. It went a little bit better, I think. =0)

Noah had his 18 month check up and shots yesterday morning. He is doing great, going up the charts, right in the 50th percentile. Perfection! 26 lbs, 8 oz and 32 inches TALL! He is SO TALL! lol! Where is my lil man?

Since Noah was such a good boy at the Drs office, and since his Birthday and Christmas are literally a few days apart, I thought a new toy was in order. We got a Mr. Potato Head! He loves it. He loves putting the parts in funny places. This picture stinks, and my floor was dirty, but here you go!

Noah got to go "swimming" in his wading pool, and he played HARD. He was in such a good mood! Popsicles, and splashin make for a fun afternoon. Afterward, he took a nice hard nap. YAY!
Okay, on to today. ::sigh:: This morning Noah had his very first swimming lesson. He has swam many times before. Not a bookoo load or anything, but apparetnly swimming lessons are going to be HARD. I was literally in tears when we got done. He was clawing and grabbing at me like a scared baby kitten and he screamed for 30 solid minutes. He is still hoarse. I felt like such a bad mommy making him bob under water, hang onto the wall....I don't know if I can do it again next week....

After that, I just kind of crashed. Mentally and physically. When Noah was taking his short nap after my mom left this morning, I made this card for a swap I am in on CMMs. I really like it. Its another one of Dawn's tutorials. I LOVE her stuff! This was a hard card to make because there was limits on laying it out, but I really think the lady will like it. I stuffed it to the gills with images, ribbon, and flowers. Hope she enjoys!

Sunday, Sunday, SUNDAY!

Well, Sunday was not bad at all. It was a pleasant surprise! It was a very nice, low stress day filled with new things!

I got to sleep in a tiny bit. About 30 extra minutes. Darn internal clock, LOL! Lounged around for awhile and then we headed up to go get Noah from my moms and head to my grandparents house where celebrating the 4th. I know, I know. The 4th was Friday. It was easier for us this way. =0)

We went swimming for a little while. I swear. Noah can't figure out whether he likes to swim or not. He giggles, and cries. Giggles, and cries. Its driving me CRAZY! We are taking him to his first swimming lesson on Wed this week so maybe that will make up his mind, lol!

After we went swimming, it was time for lunch. Those of you that know me and Noah a little better know that I have a dickens of a time getting Noah to eat anything other than bread, peanut butter, and crackers...things like that. So yesterday he was going nuts wanting our corn on the cob, so I let him have mine and he ATE it! And LOVED it! I am SO PROUD! He also had some fresh blackberries and blueberries. Today he decided he wanted my bean and cheese quesadilla (sp??) He ate half of it! I am SO EXCITED!

So today I indulged in a new stamp. I got my very first changito monkey stamp. I love it and want ALL OF THEM!!! They only have this one and the thank you stamp at the Hobby Lobby where I live. Oh, well. The only thing I was disappointed with was that I didn't wait and get it on sale. I HATE paying full price for ANYTHING!

I am using the stamp for my son's birthday invites. Be honest. What do you think? I kinda think they are busy....I dunno. Noah's birthday is not until December 21, so I have some time. But I figure, get them out of the way and get started on Christmas cards. I don't want to wait until the last minute this year!

Projects and more projects!

Hey guys! Well, this weekend so far has been pretty good, much to my surprise. What tomorrow holds, only God knows, but I hope he has something yummy in mind, lol! We are having our 4th celebration tomorrow.

This morning, I was up bright and early with a few things on my mind, so I got up, checked my messages, and around 8:30 started to get ready for church. It was still super early(much to my chagrin....Noah was at moms...I COULD HAVE SLEPT IN!), and I thought, you know what? I want to go hiking. So, DH and I got ready and went to Burgess Falls. Its a great partial day trip.
The weather was perfect. It was crowded, so we did not hike to the bottom this time, but it was great either way. The reason I am alone in the pic is because DH said he was not...um...how did he put it...he was not put together? He had not done his hair and he was sweating. I think that was the way of it, LOL!

When we got home this afternoon, I was ready for a round of crafting. I started with a project I have been putting off for Noah's room. I made this plaque to hang and covered the letter N to match. I finally put up Noah's shelf the other day! (Brandy, I know you are so proud) so I have a place to put things for him now.

And, I was on a card roll this weekend! 3 today, and one the other day. Some of you have already seen it, but I neglected to post a blog...due to lack of interesting things going on in my life, but anywho...hope you like! DH helped me with the fish card. He made me a hook. Isn't he sweet to take an interest in my hobbies?

Well, on that note, I am heading to bed for a long day with family tomorrow. Wish us luck! I have no idea what is in store! DH is still working on his miniature flux capacitor...yes, you read that right...he is making a flux capacitor. He is gearing up to make a larger version...so we can go to the future!

Bella, House Mouse, and the park...OH MY!

Whatever. I am such a nerd. I hate thinking of names for my posts. It used to be fun...then I had a toddler and my brain went kaput, LOL!

So last evening, Noah had a picnic supper outside. We just could not stay in. The weather was SO pleasant! I have been so thankful for that 5 dollar picnic table we got yardsaling a month or so ago with Brandy and Elizabeth. Noah uses it ALL the time! I like that I don't have to worry about him. That table is SO much safer for a little guy! We will probably picnic again tonight.

Is it just me, or does Noah always have that, "I'm up to something" look on his face? LOL!

So, the Bella Bandwagon has a new member. I have always thought they were cute, but I went off the deep end and actually bought a piece of patterned paper JUST FOR the ONLY Puppybella image that I have, LOL! I MUST have lost my mind.

I literally invisioned this card almost to the last detail. That rarely happens to me anymore.

I actually really like this image, and this card. I got these flower brads at Big Lots for a dollar. It was a pack of like 20. I thought they were SOO cute! I saved them for JUST the right project...and Bella was the winner!

This morning I got to work on my challenge for CMMs. I really liked this challenge. Its called a Pop Up Surprise card. The tutorial we are following is by Dawn.

Here is the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iYS2WIEOEbQ She has an amazing way at explaining cards so that even the most amateaur carder can follow along. I love you Dawn!

I went ahead and made two. I didn't fall in love with the cupcake card. Not sure why.

I really LOVE the House Mouse Card, though. I got the cardstock from one of my bestest friends, Heather. I am in LOVE with this cardstock. I hope to find more like it.

I also love the little feet print stamp I got yesterday. Got it 50% off because it was already used and it was the only one on the shelf. ChaCHING! lol!

And finally, today we got to go to the park with Noah's little friend Ethan. It was anothe nice day. Not as breezy, but overcast and low humidity. Praise GOD! It has been so nice to spend some time with Noah outside. He is so much happier when he is not cooped up inside all of the time. Lets face it. I think we are all that way. So over all, it was a very nice day! Thanks for reading!
