Breezy

Today was another amazing day. I am SOO thankful for these beautiful days this week! Sunshine, and cool breezes. A nice change from 75% humidity, no breeze and 95 degrees! Noah played outside for quite awhile this afternoon. Yet another watermelon day. The boy is addicted! I suppose he could have worse addictions! lol!

While we were outside, we found this handsome fellow (gal?) and I wanted to share with you. I have always wanted a nice shot of a dragon fly, and now I have finally gotten my wish! YAY!

I also got to make yet another Bella card last night. This one is uber simple, but I liked how it made the image pop. It was not as...distracting. I tried something new. I outlined the mat, and the bag with gel pens after I colored with colored pencil. I really liked the effect. In the past, I have been nervous to try pens for anything other than writing. I think I will try this one again.

Okay, so I also have to make mention of my FAVE new product, okay...maybe not fave but pretty close. The last time we had a secret sister swap in CMMs, I was given a stack of textured, adhesive cardstock from DCWV. At first I was not sure how to use it, but now...::sniffle:: I am running out....WAH!!! I have to find MORE!

OKay, I promise, I am done rambling. Have a great evening you lovely ladies!

Shhh! Its a secret!

Okay, not the post, just parts of the post.

This weekend actually had a lot of nice points. Noah was feeling much, MUCH better after his strange hives and bad temperment the last week or two, so we got up and went to Sabbath School and church. He did so well! Its so great to get back to church! They had changed themes in the cradelroll room. This quarter its the ocean! Noah loved the sand, the fish, the songs. he had a blast!

After church, the mail came early (LOVE it when that happens)and I got my first Secret Sister Package from the Card Swapper group. I can't believe she was so FAST! Holy WOWzers! I got SO MANY goodies! (For the record, I have NO idea why this pic is sideways)

Yesterday afternoon after Noah had his nap he and I went to visit my parents in Portland. He was so sweet! Its amazing how much he has learned in the last few weeks. He says please and thankyou ("pees" and "da dooo"). He says, HI! and Bye Bye VERY well now, and he says them a lot. He can ask for milk (kik) and juice (djuce), as well as crackers (caker) and cookies (tookie)....well, he can talk a lot now. lol Off subject. Noah had a lot of fun with Gammie and Granpa yesterday. We went to the park and he ran all over the place. My dad does not get to see him as often as my mom and he was shocked how much Noah is learning! I have to say, I am too. And not just a little bit proud, LOL!

This morning, Noah actually slept in. PRAISE GOD! This has pretty much NEVER happend. He slept until 7:15 am, lol. He was in a good mood this morning, so after he went down I got a chance to make cards! I can't post them over on CMMs cause they are for my secret sister in the Card Swappers Group. I really like the first one. I got the paper from my secret sis. Perhaps I should have kept it for myself. Oh, well, lol!

This afternoon, Noah, Daddy and I all got to go to the park. It was VERY breezy today, and yesterday too. It made for a nice afternoon. And it was nice to get out of the house. I don't know how many of you are stay at home moms with limited recourses, but even getting out to the grocery store once a week is a treat for me, now that gas costs so much...50 bucks for my 12 gallon car. I can't imagine having an SUV. I would NEVER go anywhere, LOL!

Anywho, thats my weekend. I hope to get Noah fed, bathed and to bed by 7:30 since he refused am afternoon nap so that I can make some cards for myself. =0)

What a week!

Well, I have to say. This weekend was not the best weekend in the world, but I will hi-light the GOOD things, rather than bringing you all down. =0)
Friday night, Noah had a fever. Not sure what from, but he was burning through the sheets. It was gone in the morning, but we kept an eye on him. After his morning nap, he had the fever again. He was miserable and cried and cried. We had NO idea what to think. We just kept him as happy as we could and went with that. Needless to say, no church again last week.
While Noah was napping, I WAS able to get a project close to my heart done. I was so excited! My best friend from the 5th grade is going to Borneo on a mission trip and she LOVES to write. I had been wracking my brain on a small parting gift and finally decided a journal would be perfect. I sent it off priority on Monday. I hope she likes it. I LOVE it! lol!
DH kept making fun of me because I wanted to keep it for myself. I found this paper at Big Lots and its my FAVE! I need to go back soon and stock up on it!!! Plus, who doesn't love Bella???

Sunday, Noah had no fever, so mom came down and watched him so DH and I could go and see Get Smart. Friday was our 4 year anneversery, but we were unable to celebrate, so we decided Sunday was a better day to.
Get Smart is a very VERY funny movie. I would suggest it to anyone. It was great.
Afterward we went to Carrabas. Its an Italian Grill. OH! The food was AMAZING! I have never had such wonderful food in my entir LIFE! If we had the money, I would go back there often! Their prices are a little steep for parents on a budget. So maybe on DHs birthday we will go. =0)
Well, Tuesday, Noah got up and had HIVES ALL down the back of his legs. I immediatly called the doc, having NO idea WHAT was going on. He was SO irratable still....I was going NUTS!

Took him to the doctor and he said that Noah had a few infected insect bites, and that the hives were from a contact allergy. He put him on an antibiotic and benedryl. By the next day he was doing MUCH better. Thank goodness! I have really missed my lil man!

Yesterday I got some really sweet photos of my lil cowboy. He likes hats, so when I find them cheap I have been been getting them for him. It also works for me, loving to take pics. He is by far, my favorite subject. I know you can't imagine why. I have been told by a VERY close friend that I should have ordered the cute model, lol! (love you Elli!)

Lastly, but not least, I was given a really neat award yesterday. Heather, one of my other VERY good friends (met her on Cafe Mom) awarded me the kreative blogger award! I am touched, honored and everything in between! How special! Thank you! I am going to think and pass it on to a few deserving individuals. =0)
This award will just push me to be even more inpired and creative.
THANK YOU HEATHER!!!

4 Years!

Wow! Today was my 4 year anneversery with my Darling Husband, Bobby. It was not spectacular, there was no fan-fare but it was nice.
When I got up this morning I was greeted to roses, a very heartfelt card, and starbucks chocolate. Mmmm....I was surprised! Last night DH had practice for his church group tonight and did not get home until 10:45. I never guessed that part of that reason was because he was buying me roses. Please don't judge my photography. My living room swallows light like a black hole.

So, that was a really nice way to start my day. Noah had a really hard time when he woke up from his nap and I was scared it was going to be a very long day, but I was blessed that once he had something in his tummy he was good to go! Perfect angel at the grocery store, perfect angel all afternoon. ::ahhh:: I even had time to make a card today!
I know its too soon to be thinking about Christmas, but I thought that if I didn't get a headstart that once November rolled around I would be up to my eyeballs in Birthday invites and Christmas cards. Anyway, this was my first shaker card. What do you think? I think its kinda cute. I got the image in a swap. I am almost certain that it is Stampin Up.

This card is one that I made for a challenge over at Card Makin Mamas. THANKS SHEMAINE! This was a great challenge! THANKS TOOTHY! She sent me the transparency. DH brought me some more from work, so I am good to make all the transparency cards and shaker cards I want now! WOOHOO!

Well, I think I will end on a Noah note. He is so sweet. I got this stroller for 3 dollars at a yard sale....NO brandy...it is NOT a girl stroller, LOL! Noah LOVES for me to roll him around the yard and the living room. He climbs up in it and begs me to take him on a ride. After we got back from the mail box today, I put the cat in the stroller and Noah pushed her around. He and the cat (Harley) are good friends. Well, Noah likes to think so anyway. Anywho, she was a good little kitty and sat while he wheeled her around, ran her into things and tried to buckle her in.
(buckle up for safety!) (Please don't judge my mess....)

New Hair!

Well, yesterday was the big day. I have been waiting MONTHS to get a new do. I have been SO nervous. The girl I was going to before Noah was born was magNIFicent....and then she left Dillards.
It was SO hard for me to trust her with my hair...and then she was great...and then she left. ::sigh::
For my birthday DH got me a giftcard to Dillards for a spa treatment. Hair, nails, massage...whatever I wanted. I REALLY wanted the massage, but my mind was calculating the money and thinking....a massage will last one day....and a hair do will last months. So being the frugal one, I went with the hair.
The woman didn't listen to a word I said. I told her exactly what I wanted....and she didn't feel comfortable doing it. What? Thats what I am paying you the not so small bucks for! But I went with it....

It's not that its butchered...its just not what I had my heart set on. Oh, well. So here it it. I am sure it will "grow" on me....HAHAHA! A little hair humor there....yeah. So here you go!

So Proud!!!

Well, this evening I got one of the sweetest gifts ever from my darling, almost 18 month old son. He "read" me an entire book. Complete with sound effects...
Noah: Jibber Jabber, Bluk Jabber.... Translation"Courduroy likes to go to the doctor. The waiting room has toys and books"

Jibber Jaberish, Gluk Blu Jab..... Translation, " Courduroy, its your turn! Courduroy gets undressed."

(Still Noah) ::Pats Tummy::....Translation, "He's grown a lot this year and gained a lot of pounds. Too many cookies Courduroy!"

(STILL Noah) ::AHHHH:: Translation, "The doctor looks at his throat. Say, AH, Courduroy! (he's getting better at the reading. Can't you tell???)

(Noah) ::Points at both ears and eyes:: Translation: "He looks in his ears and his eyes".

(Noah) ::Taps Chest and takes a deep breath:: Translation: He listens to his heart. Take a deep breath, Courduroy!

(Noah) LOTS of jabbering and exaggerated pointing and expression. Translation: "Do I get a shot?" asks Courduroy. Yes, says the doctor. We don't want you to get sick. Courduroy is very brave. He gets a balloon and a button. Good boy, Courduroy."

Well, I don't know about you all, but that is the best bed time story I have ever heard! I almost cried! He is the smartest, sweetest little boy in the entire world! Such a perfect end to a gloomy day.

Other good things in my day include actually getting the dishes done, the grocery shopping and some laundry, which...there really was not that much of for once! Hallelujia!

The other good thing is that I got to make a card this morning! It's about stinkin time, lol! I sure have missed creating!

I also got to make a challenge card for the House Mouse Club the other day! I am pretty pleased with it over all. I have really enjoyed trying new things in my card groups! It's so much fun!

Just a final thought and I will be done. I have realized recently just how blessed with friends I am. Here at home, but also on Cafe Mom. I have met several ladies that are just outstanding and I don't honestly know how I got through life without them before. They have pushed me to become a better person. I thank God for them every day.
So, there you have it. I am blessed!

Happy Birthday to MEEEE!!!!

I had the GREATEST birthday week this week! It was amazing! Not because of any huge gesture, but because of all of the small things. The things that let you know that people really care, you know?
For the last week wonderful cards have been trickling in from ladies and family letting me know how much they care and wishing me the happiest birthday (as well as an email or two). I mean, just look at all these beautiful cards! How could they NOT brighten someone's birthday??? Several of the cards also came with goodies for card making. Even MORE fun! I even got my very own BELLA!! When I got up on the morning of my birthday, my administrator in my card group had a post running with tons of happy birthday wishes for me. It almost made me cry!!!

The day of my birthday, my mom took me to my favorite consignment stores in Bowling Green, KY. Since it's a long drive, we only get to go a few times a year, if at all, but they have the BEST clothes up there! AND Noah was a sweetie ALL DAY while we were out! Here is one of my new hott mama shirts: (please excuse the mess in the background and the soap from my son on the mirror....that's what I am doing after I finish here...)

Also, the morning of my birthday, I got up to my DH singing "Happy Birthday" on my answering machine. AWE! I don't think I will ever delete it! It's so sweet! It's the little things, you know???
And....FINALLY I had some time to myself to make CARDS! YAY!!!! Yesterday morning I had time to make this beauty, and then last night I made just the other two simple cards. YAY!!!

Thanks to all of you and to everyone who helped make this week ROCK! Mwa!!!

Splish Splashin Away the Monday Blues

I, for one, hate Monday. No real reason to other than....I just do, LOL!
I accidentally slept in this morning which made Noah a little cranky cause he got his breakfast a little late. I was dispairing by nap time cause he was fighting with all his might! He had a very long weekend and hardly had any sleep during the day Sat or Sunday. He NEEDED his nap!
After he finally went down I got to work on the sketch challenge for Card Makin Mamas. Not my favorite card ever, but it works.

Had to go to Walmart...can't stand going there. I ALWAYS spend more than I need to, it's always crowded...and they never carry the same thing twice. BUT they DID have a pool that was just right for my lil man, so I bought it for him.
When we got home we went out and had some fun in the sun! Noah LOVES the fireman hat that I got him when Brandy and I went yarsaling.
We had a blast splishing and splashing in the sprinkler and in his new pool. I never realized how just having your feet in the water could really cool you off on a hot Tennessee day. Ahhh, the perks of being a mom! Ha!

So, here are a few things that I have learned from being a mother: Laundry and dishes are actually fun! Who knew? Making messes is even MORE fun! Eating healthy things can be SO fun! Finding the humor in things is way more fun than being a grouch...i.e. mommy is choking and coughing...that's pretty funny stuff! lol! Apparently....Heh....Learning is a blast! Why aren't adults more willing to learn? Oh, and all people deserve a chance. No matter who they are. I have learned so much I could go on all day! But that's just something to ponder for now. =0)
